How to Make Guitar Picks From Cardboard
Are you tired of having to buy guitar
picks every time you lose one? Or, are you tired of using picks in
colors and designs you don't like? Or with tacky logos plastered on
them? Rather than settle for that, why not make your own? Here's how!
Things You'll Need
Steps
-
1
Trace your guitar pick onto a sheet of stiff cardboard. You can trace it with any type of pencil or ink, as it will be cut off later.
-
2
Cut out all of the cardboard guitar picks.
-
3
Get tape and put it on your guitar pick. Make sure not to fold it over to the other side or overlap other tape. Cut away any excess tape.
-
4
Repeat on other side.
-
5
Draw any pattern or write anything you want onto the guitar picks. You can be as creative as you want.
-
6
Be proud. You now have a home made guitar pick that works great!
Tips
- You can also use those "free" credit cards
that come in the mail... just trace the pattern and cut. You don't get
as much choice in patterns, but it's a nice, stiff plastic and it's
free. (Expired or maxed out cards work too!)
- For added stiffness, add another layer of tape.
- Another great material is coffee lids...they have the right stiffness for a good guitar pick.
- Experiment with different kinds of cardboard and tape to see what works best for you.

Warnings
- Don't use flimsy or poor quality cardboard, because it will be a flimsy pick and get folded
- Animals including dogs and cats may eat cardboard after its cut so be sure to color them fast or put them out of reach.
